Tutorial Fellow in Philosophy and Christian Ethics

Regent’s Park College, a Permanent Private Hall of the University, seeks to appoint a Fellow in Philosophy and Christian Ethics, who will teach, engage in research, and share administrative work within College. The Fellow will be the Director of Studies for undergraduates on philosophy joint schools in College (Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE), Philosophy and Theology, and Classics). They must be ready to offer graduate supervision in Ethics, and to teach Ethics, Philosophy of Religion and at least some out of the range of other Philosophy undergraduate papers on offer in the PPE and Philosophy and Theology joint schools. The Fellow will also share in the pastoral care of students and in the administrative work of the College.

The Fellow should have experience of teaching undergraduates, research expertise, and a record of publication commensurate with their stage of career, in Ethics. They should also have some experience of academic administration and evidence of being able to provide pastoral support to students. Applicants should hold a doctorate in Philosophy or hold one by 31 December 2019, and must have the right to work indefinitely in the UK or be eligible to apply for that status.

The salary will be in the range £39,896 - £41,896 p.a. (including a housing allowance of £7,063 - £7,417) depending on qualifications and experience, and will be pensionable with USS. The position also carries membership of the SCR and dining rights.
