Matthew Rylatt is awarded 'Best of Bicester' for December 2021

Nomination

Matthew's tutor, Graham Hill, nominated him for his hard work...

Matt initially was very quiet and subdued when he arrived in late September but very quickly settled and gained confidence becoming a fantastic member of the class, who contributes well and shows passion.

He is highly regarded amongst his peers and staff around the centre.
He regularly completes tasks in his own time, making various items and bringing them in for feedback and ways to improve. Matthew also was the only individual to gain 100% in his first exam (Health & Safety)

Matt's team in Said Business School also commented on the nomination...

Said Business School are delighted that Matt has been recognised for the time and effort he is applying to his apprenticeship course by wining the “Best of Bicester” (Apprentice of the Month) Award. The support of the university, Said Business School, and Abingdon and Witney college has allowed Matt the time and resource to fully absorb himself in the course and his confidence and ability has grown since enrolment, both practically and administratively.

We asked Matt how he felt to win this award...

Winning the award has meant a lot to me. It’s a great feeling to be recognised for something you’ve done. I was pleasantly surprised to win and the award was for showing degrees of effort, aptitude, and a good work ethic. I only began the course in September so it’s still relatively new to me but in that short time I have gained skills and confidence I am already putting to use.

Apprenticeship

Matt recently started on the Level 3 Plumbing and Domestic Heating apprenticeship which is run by Abingdon & Witney college at their new Bicester Construction Centre.
