Max Evans- 1 year reflection at the University of Oxford

Max Evans- A year into my apprenticeship

Following working at the University for a year, Max has described his journey so far with the following:

It is a cliché saying, but I cannot believe how fast this year has gone!  It doesn’t feel too far in the past that I was in the interview chair, with the nerves this creates and then the good news I had been offered the job. Reflecting on the first year, I have learnt so much and being part of a team enjoyed every step of the way. I look forward with excitement and energy to what the next year has installed for me.

I am immensely grateful to be a part of such a kind, supportive and hardworking team who have all given me continuous encouragement and aid with my development so far. The team strive to deliver exceptional service in everything we do and I am proud to be a part of a team like this.  During my time at the University, I have worked alongside other teams and departments and can see people having the same energy and commitment they have to their teams.

Some of the main reasons I opted for an apprenticeship were to gain valuable work experience, and another qualification, plus the benefit of starting my career by stepping onto the salary ladder.  A year on, I can confidently say that these goals have become a reality.

I am eager to see how my next year will play out and how I will continue to develop my skills and grow in confidence as a person.
