University launches new cohort of Apprenticeship Ambassadors!

Apprentice Ambassadors 2021, University of Oxford

Apprentice Ambassadors for University of Oxford attend training day

The Apprenticeships Team were very pleased to welcome some of our newest apprentice ambassadors to the network. On 28 September, a virtual training day was held to enable apprentices to meet, learn more about being a university ambassador and have a go at presenting their stories.

During their time with us, the new recruits will help spread awareness of the apprenticeship route by attending events such as career fairs and school visits. They will also be sharing their experiences in case studies and social media takeovers so other people can learn more about what an apprentice job role might entail.

Ambassadors

Among our new ambassadors, we have apprentices studying business administration courses as well as for finance and IT qualifications.

Asked why they were choosing to become an ambassador, our IT apprentice shared,

"I can't wait to share the benefits of apprenticeships and let more people know what they're missing!".

We then asked some of our ambassadors why they chose to do an apprenticeship and what advice they will be sharing...

Doing an apprenticeship is a great way of combining academic studies and vocational experience and I have found it to be a really good balance

Apprenticeships are a really invaluable experience with a LOT of benefits and opportunities

Make sure you learn from the experience and do not miss out any opportunities!

Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Ambassadors

We also welcomed Mel Ringer from OxLEP to come along and explain what it means to be part of the Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Ambassador group, should the apprentices wish to be part of this network too.
